Members of our church participate in two different interactive Bible studies which we endorse and encourage. The study format for both groups is the same. There is a four-step process for going through passages of scripture. First, individually seeking the Lord as you read and answer study questions. Second, joining with your study group and going over all the questions together. Third, listening to a lecture on the content you just studied. And fourth, reading a printed commentary about the same passage. Doesn't this sound like a thorough way to study the scriptures with others? The difference between the studies is that one is local and one is online. Continue reading below to learn more!
Community Bible Study (CBS) is a daytime women's study which meets in Frederick at Harvest Christian Fellowship. Studies run for the school year. Visit this LINK to find out more. (Note: LHCC also offers an excellent study for women led by Donna Mercer who is a CBS teaching director. Click here to learn more about this study.)
iStudyEBS, like CBS, follows the same four-step learning process. However, since iStudy is online, there are more classes to choose from, including classes for women, men, co-ed, and international time zones. The study groups (step #2) are live and interactive using a meeting app called Zoom and the lectures (step #3) are prerecorded and accessible on YouTube. Classes run during the school year and they also offer summer classes. Visit this LINK to learn more about iStudyEBS.
If you'd like to talk to someone who has participated in any of the above classes, contact the church office and let us know.
